(apoC-II / apoE transfer from HDL - no enzyme)

1 reactions · 1 pathways

What it does, reaction by reaction

Lipoprotein Metabolism (Exogenous and Endogenous Pathways: chylomicrons, VLDL, LDL, HDL) Lipid Metabolism · Intestine, liver, plasma, capillary endothelium

step 4 Irreversible/directional

Nascent chylomicron + apoC-II and apoE from HDL → mature chylomicron

Converts Nascent chylomicron into Mature chylomicron

Notes

HDL donates apoC-II, an essential activator of lipoprotein lipase (LPL), and apoE, which mediates remnant recognition. ApoA-I and apoA-IV are also present on intestinal particles; no covalent energy-consuming reaction is required for this exchange.
