Converts (S)-2,3-Oxidosqualene into Lanosterol

Notes

Lanosterol synthase (oxidosqualene cyclase) protonates and cyclizes the linear epoxide through a concerted carbocation cascade to generate the tetracyclic sterol nucleus. No ATP is directly consumed.
